The Dividing Line – Cafe Gallery - London 2005

A forum for practitioners in palliative care and medical humanities, offering them a unique opportunity to reflect and discuss their practice and find new ways to explore this through video and installation. Helen Marshall facilitated a workshop that reflected on themes in the exhibition ‘It’s Inside’, an installation by Katharine Meynell & Alistair Skinner. What followed exceeded the expectations of both participants and organisers. Using video, objects and text participants made their own visual and textual responses to the exhibition. In short, they created artworks that became part of the exhibition for a day. Participants found they were able to reflect and share their practice in a way that was new and invigorating. Some also expressed an increased insight into the feelings of the patient and client.
