SPACE is a leading visual arts organisation providing creative workspace, advocacy, support and promoting innovation. Established by artists in 1968, SPACE runs 18 artist studio buildings across 7 London boroughs, providing affordable creative workspace plus support programmes, such as exhibitions, artists residencies, bursaries and training opportunities, to enable artists to be sustainable.
Hackney’s Here! Exploring Hackney through drawing and photography, Orchard school pupils have made an archive of images with a specific focus on the body, buildings, and objects. The exhibition displayed digital montages of their drawings and photographs together in the SPACE Media room and hundreds of these unique images were freely pasted to the walls of the courtyard.
